John Paul – VisionQuests and Adventures layered with Mystery
John Paul studied art in England at West Surrey College of Art & Design as well as Arizona State University.
At A.S.U he was privileged to study under the guidance of art photography historian, Bill Jay. There he had personal access to many of the legends of photography including Eugene Smith, Paul Capinigro, Minor White, and Ansel Adams.
John Paul worked many years in Chicago as a photographer. He then developed a successful career in Information Technology at AT&T Bell Laboratories, receiving his Masters from Northwestern University, and providing consultation to many Fortune 100 corporations.
John Paul mentors individual photographers, gives lectures and conducts photographic pilgrimages to remote places around the world. He calls such pilgrimages aVisionQuests;.
The primary subject of his lectures/workshops/mentoring and VisionQuests is integrative photography. In these activities he mentors and encourages participants to seek a greater understanding of the relationships between their internal and external worlds, integrating the two through photography. His clients come away from these VisionQuests with greater insights, accomplishments, personal growth and knowledge that empowers them in their “everyday” life and photographic efforts.
